WHAT is HONING?

Honing process provides the final sizes and creates the desire finish pattern on the desired components bores. Finishing is accomplished by expanding metal bond or conventional stones of suitable grit against the work surface. The stones are related and reciprocated in the part with hone abrasive stones under the pressure. Combination of rotation and reciprocation produces a desire cross-hatch pattern in the honing parts.
